Louis A. Shapiro is President and CEO of HSS. He has served in this role since October 2006, overseeing all strategic and operational aspects of the Hospital and fulfilling its mission – to advance the field of musculoskeletal medicine through world-class patient care, research and education. Under Mr. Shapiro’s leadership, HSS has experienced significant growth, expansion of facilities and recognition as the world leader in its specialty areas of orthopedics, rheumatology and their related disciplines.
Mr. Shapiro is a strong proponent of the link between internal culture and performance. He spends the time to ensure that every HSS employee is aligned with the HSS goal of providing patients an unsurpassed experience that results in excellent medical outcomes. Mr. Shapiro has more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania, and as a leader in the healthcare practice at McKinsey & Company. He began his career at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he served in a number of capacities.
In the past, Mr. Shapiro has served as Board Chairman of the Greater New York Hospital Association, for which he continues to serve on the Executive Committee and others. He also serves on the Board of Crutches for Kids, Move Mountains Foundation and Latitude Food Allergy Care.
Mr. Shapiro earned his BS and MHA degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.

Russ is CEO at Headspace Health, where he leads the company with his experience as a technology entrepreneur and a passion for digital mental health, strategy, and building great cultures. Most recently Russ was CEO of Ginger, which merged with Headspace in October 2021, to create Headspace Health. Prior to Ginger, Russ led products for the marketing solutions group at LinkedIn. He is the founder and former CEO and president of Bizo, a B2B marketing and data platform, which he sold to LinkedIn in 2014. While at Bizo, Russ co-authored The Big Data-Driven Business, a guide on how big data can lead to better decision making in business. He serves on the board of Rock the Vote, where he focuses on using his experience with technology, data science, and branding tactics to increase engagement and turnout among young voters. He is also the author of the children’s book Voting with a Porpoise. Russ has a BSE in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from Duke University.

Prior to joining KKR, Chris was the global head of benefits and wellness at Bloomberg. He also previously worked at Goldman Sachs in various benefits and compensation roles. He holds a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.

Shelley Sinclair is Associate Director, Total Rewards-Benefits at Ernst & Young (EY). She is responsible for the strategy, design and administration of the health and welfare plans for EY’s 44,000 U.S. staff and partners. Shelley has over 20 years of employee benefits experience. Prior to joining EY, she worked at BNY Mellon as Vice President of Benefits Planning where she coordinated the integration of the legacy Bank of New York and Mellon benefit programs.
Shelley earned her B.A. in economics and French from Wellesley College and holds an MBA from Fordham University.
Shelley is on the board of directors of the Northeast Business Group on Health.
