Dr. Todd Lencz is a Professor of Psychiatry and Molecular Medicine in the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, and he leads the Laboratory of Neurogenomic Biomarkers within the Institute of Behavioral Science at The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research. Dr. Lencz’s primary research focus is the use of genetic, neuroimaging, and neurocognitive technologies to improve the treatment of schizophrenia and other psychiatric disorders. Dr. Lencz serves as leader and/or founder of several international consortia of genetics researcher, including: COGENT (the international cognitive genomics consortium); PEER (the Polygenic Embryo ELSI Research consortium); and TAGC (The Ashkenazi Genome Consortium). He is also a founding member of the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium (PGC).

Dr. Lencz is the author or co-author of more than 230 peer-reviewed publications of scientific and biomedical literature. He was an invited contributor to the Encyclopedia of Genetics, and has authored numerous book chapters and invited commentaries. Dr. Lencz was among the first recipients of the EUREKA (Exceptional, Unconventional Research Enabling Knowledge Acceleration) award from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). He has previously received a Career Development Award from NIMH, as well as a Young Investigator Award and an Independent Investigator Award from the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation. He received his BA magna cum laude from Yale University and his PhD from the University of Southern California.
