Joana is a Senior Vice President within our Pharmacy practice and the East Market pharmacy leader. In this role, she is responsible for providing strategic guidance to support clients in managing their pharmacy benefits.

Prior to joining Aon in 2024, Joana spent over 20 years as a pharmacy consultant at Mercer with various leadership roles.

She first began working in the industry in 2000.

Over the years, Joana has held several leadership positions within pharmacy consulting. Most recently she was the pharmacy innovation and product development leader, focusing on launching several innovative solutions to help employers manage rising pharmacy costs. She has also created and managed several pharmacy purchasing collectives and consulted on large and jumbo multi-national companies. Negotiating market leading contractual provisions and aggressive pricing has been a key skill for Joana.

Joana’s goal is to create a multi-year strategic roadmap and bring innovative ideas to clients so they can continue to offer competitive benefits to employees but at an affordable rate.

Joana earned a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University in Economics and International Relations
