Ryan Czado, PharmD, MBA, is a pharmacy benefits expert with substantial subject matter expertise in PBMs, payers, employers, strategic pharmacy consulting, and cost-containment solutions. A native of Maine, he grew up with a healthcare family and developed an early interest in pharmacy. While pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, he became increasingly drawn to the intersection of pharmacy and business, leading him to add an MBA from the University of Missouri to his resume.

Early in his career, Ryan recognized the significant negative impact caused by exorbitant healthcare costs and narrowed his focus to finding healthcare spending efficiencies. At Express Scripts, one of the largest PBMs, he specialized in clinical account management, cost management programs, and implementation of clinical products and solutions. Taking his expertise gained from the PBM world, he transitioned into developing and implementing a pharmacy strategy for a health plan startup, Minuteman Health and continued consulting for clients at Deloitte and Lockton Companies. While serving as Senior Vice President and Northeast Pharmacy Practice Leader at Lockton, he increased their pharmacy revenue by 5-fold in 5 years and provided oversight and management of pharmacy consulting and advisory services for 250+ employer and payer clients.

At RazorMetrics, Ryan is the Chief Pharmacy Officer, providing a highly valuable role among our leadership by driving pharmacy cost containment and process efficiency. His expertise in identifying inefficiencies within the prescription process—from the physician’s script to pharmacy pickup—he knows empowering providers with better information leads to smarter, more cost-effective healthcare decisions.

Outside of work, Ryan lives in Connecticut with his wife and three boys. His weekends are spent on the sidelines of lacrosse games, tackling home improvement projects, and occasionally honing his woodworking skills.
