Tara Higgins has more than 25 years of experience in management, medication therapy management (MTM), ambulatory care, continuous quality improvement (CQI), and managed care. Prior to re-joining PSG, Tara served as Senior Director Clinical Consulting for OptumRx, where she managed clinical consultant pharmacists who provided clinical support to employer and health system clients. In her prior role with PSG, Tara was a lead pharmacy benefit consultant working with employers to support contracting and clinical strategic solutions. She has served as the Clinical Pharmacy Director for Rhode Island Primary Care Physicians Corporation, where she developed and managed clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, interns, and students to provide pharmacy services to the Integra Community Care ACO network of primary care providers and specialists. She also helped develop and implement disease state and care management programs and outcome measurement. As Pharmacy Program Coordinator for HealthCentric Advisors, Tara monitored, tracked, and reported on Medicare contract deliverables as well as coached for CQI cycles with systems of care focused on pharmacy service measurement. For Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, she was a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and liaison to key provider groups to maximize cost-effective, safe, and quality medication selection. Tara earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from Shenandoah University and a Bachelor of Science from University of Rhode Island. She is a licensed pharmacist in Rhode Island and her certifications include medication therapy management (MTM), certified diabetes outpatient educator (CDOE), certified cardiovascular outpatient educator (CVDOE), and certified disc assessment facilitator.
