Dennis Flannelly is currently the Associate Vice President Pipeline & Portfolio Strategy, Precision Medicine, and Oncology Business Planning US Oncology at Merck, known as MSD, outside of the United States and Canada. In this role, Flannelly oversees the strategic and future looking functions within US Oncology and leads the precision medicine business for Merck’s suite of oncology products. Flannelly has extensive expertise in early and late-stage product development, core in-line pharmaceutical product tactical execution, and managing medium to large-scale diagnostics businesses.

In addition to his role at Merck, Flannelly provides corporate governance, strategic insight, and direction in the development of diagnostic businesses. Flannelly serves on the Board of Directors for Kenota Health (Ontario, Canada) and previously served on the Board of Directors for ReadCoor (Cambridge, MA) which was acquired by 10X Genomics, and Weavr Health (Cambridge, MA).

Flannelly has served as a leader of successful businesses in the biotech and pharma industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining Merck, Flannelly served in leadership roles at PerkinElmer, now Revvity, as the Vice President and General Manager of the Immunodiagnostics Business, and previously as Vice President of Maternal-Fetal Health. Before Revvity, Flannelly was the Global Director of Clinical Marketing for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Immunodiagnostics Business. While at Thermo Fisher Scientific Flannelly also served as the Head of US Marketing.

Early in his career, Flannelly worked at Merck gaining experiences in sales, early/late-stage product development, and core in line product marketing for mid-range and blockbuster products in neurology, arthritis & analgesia, respiratory, and cardiovascular product lines.

Flannelly has a Bachelor of Science from Villanova University, a Master of Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University, and graduated from high school at the International School of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
