Maria Behrens is a Vice President and Head of Corporate Engagement for Digital Planning and Advisory Services in the Multi-Asset Solutions group in Goldman Sachs Asset Management. In this role she works with the firm’s partners to enhance participant financial wellbeing and engagement with digital and human-centric financial planning services.

Maria has a wealth of experience in designing employer-sponsored financial planning engagement solutions with a specialty in wealth technology, client success and participant engagement.

Prior to her current role, she held positions in Goldman Sachs Ayco, as well as within Goldman Sachs Human Capital Management, where she was the Head of Financial Wellness, overseeing the personal finance programs for the firm’s global population, in addition to partnering with corporate clients on strategic growth and engagement initiatives.

Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, she served as the Head of Financial Wellness Program Management for Morgan Stanley at Work where she worked with clients to implement financial wellness programs and expand solutions across other workplace and consumer-focused channels. And prior to Morgan Stanley, Maria led the creation of the workplace offering for Advizr, a financial planning technology company, which is leveraged by employers, RIAs and custodians to integrate goal-based planning and financial wellness services into their ecosystems.

Maria holds a Masters in Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health, and graduated magna cum laude from Ithaca College with a B.S. in Health Sciences. She currently sits on the board of directors for Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners, a nonprofit dedicated to helping low-wage workers achieve financial security. She resides in New York City.
