Chris Black is a Senior Director within the Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence (CORE) at Merck & Co., Inc. In this role, Chris directs the development and execution of value evidence strategies to meet payer needs in product development and commercialization strategies for Merck medicines to global customers.

During his tenure at Merck, Chris has been directly responsible for planning and execution of observational studies and global market access strategies in the therapeutic areas of oncology, immunology, neuroscience, and maternal health. Chris brings research expertise in the areas of outcomes research, patient-reported outcomes and evaluation of new products by payers and health technology assessment agencies.

Chris earned his PhD (Epidemiology), MPH (Epidemiology & Biostatistics) and BS (Public Health) from Rutgers University, where he also serves as a lecturer of epidemiology. He also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Bloustein School Advisory Board at Rutgers University.
