Stephen Speicher, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric hematologist-oncologist, and a healthcare executive focused on advancing quality, safety, and access through technology-enabled care delivery.
He currently serves as Associate Chief Medical Officer at Lantern Care, where he leads clinical strategy and care model innovation to redefine how patients access high-quality specialty care nationwide.
Prior to joining Lantern Care, Dr. Speicher spent six years at Flatiron Health, where he led clinical oncology and patient safety across the organization’s oncology-focused electronic health record and digital product portfolio. In this role, he built and operationalized a comprehensive patient safety program spanning EHR, clinical decision support, AI/ML tools, and research platforms, and became a recognized thought leader in clinical quality and safety in healthcare IT. He also served as Vice Chair of the Artificial Intelligence Task Force for the Electronic Health Record Association, contributing to national policy and regulatory efforts shaping the role of AI in healthcare.
Dr. Speicher completed his medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, followed by residency training at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology at UCLA. He also holds a master’s degree in healthcare systems engineering and completed an advanced fellowship in biodesign innovation.
Dr. Speicher remains clinically active and is passionate about reimagining care delivery through the intersection of clinical excellence, systems engineering, and emerging technologies.
