Ashok Subramanian founded Centivo in 2017 after observing the inefficiency in the healthcare system and the pain that has resulted for employers and employees. Centivo provides a healthcare solution for self-insured employers that unlocks savings and value by better aligning incentives in today's healthcare system and activating employees to choose high-value providers.
Prior to Centivo, Ashok founded Liazon, operator of the nation’s industry-leading private benefits exchange for active employees. A pioneer in the industry, Liazon’s Bright Choices® Exchange empowers employees to buy the benefits they really need while enabling employers to achieve complete financial predictability for their benefits. In November 2013, Liazon was acquired for $215 million by Towers Watson, now Willis Towers Watson. After the acquisition, Ashok served as CEO of Liazon as well as Managing Director for Willis Towers Watson’s Group Exchange business.
Prior to Liazon, Ashok was an Associate Principal in the New York City office of McKinsey and Co., a global management-consulting firm, where he served as a leader in the firm’s healthcare and private equity practices.
In addition to his role at Centivo, Ashok serves as a senior advisor to Silversmith Capital, a growth equity firm.
Ashok received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, a Master’s degree from Stanford University, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he graduated as an Arjay Miller Scholar.
