"I want to host the #Davos of Women's Heart Health." "Cool. How can I help?" Maayan Cohen The nice thing about having a CEO who is a former army tank commander is that there is absolutely no fear. I’m very excited to announce that Hello Heart and the American Heart Association #GoRED are hosting the inaugural Women’s Heart Health Summit this month at Miraval Resorts & Spas Arizona. Some stunning facts: -Heart disease is the #1 killer of women, more than all other cancers combined -Women die of heart attacks at twice the rate of men -Women are 7x more likely to be misdiagnosed. -Women's heart attack symptoms are different than men's, but where's the PSA campaign to educate women? Do you know of any women leaders in healthcare, policy, medicine and media that can help catalyze this movement? We have a handful of slots left. Reach out or tag them here because yours truly controls the guest list. :) #healthequity #womenshealth #hearthealth #leadership

Reduced access to employment, health insurance, and education is linked with higher heart disease and stroke risk for Asian American subgroups — and may affect each subgroup differently, according new research from Dr. Eugene Yang and colleagues in JAHA — Journal of the American Heart Association. “The Asian American population is the fastest growing racial and ethnic group in the United States. People of South Asian heritage have higher rates of premature heart disease globally, and they recently have been found to have higher cardiovascular mortality than non-Hispanic white people," Yang says. "Better understanding of why differences in cardiovascular risk exist among Asian subgroups is vital to reducing risk and improving outcomes.” https://lnkd.in/eX58K2mq #HeartHealth #AsianPacificHeritageMonth
