Dr. Rebecca Guest is the Medical Director of the Employee Health and Wellness Department at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer. In this role, she has oversight across the Occupational Medicine needs of almost 24,000 staff. Rebecca is also a member of the faculty of Memorial Sloan Kettering and of Weill Cornell Medical College, as an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine.

Rebecca began her medical career as an Emergency Medicine doctor at Albert Einstein, the busiest Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center in Philadelphia. Among her deep clinical work experience, she particularly enjoyed her time at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) Penn Occupational Medicine Clinic. Since joining Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center 12 years ago, she has developed as a leader with broad and unique expertise. Areas encompass: Workplace wellness and health promotion; medical surveillance, OSHA, Workers Compensation, ADA Accommodations; Drug Screenings, and Mental health, including resilience, stress management, EAP, mindfulness/meditation.

Over the last year, Rebecca’s work has been focused primarily on the development and implementation of policies and procedures to protect the health and wellbeing of thousands of healthcare workers and other employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has led a strong team of essential frontline workers in the midst of unprecedented uncertainty, inclusive of personal health threats, rapidly evolving scientific knowledge, and inconsistencies in federal, state, and city health guidelines. Her department has maintained all essential work while also making a major contribution to COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics, Contact Tracing, COVID-19 testing and surveillance, and safe Return to Work after recovery from illness. This summer she will be honored by Memorial Sloan Kettering as exemplifying shared values through caring, united, and relentless actions.

Rebecca is an active participant in several regional and national organizations, including National Business Group on Health, Physician Wellness Academic Consortium, American Medicine Association, Greater New York Hospital Association, and the alumni associations of Princeton University and Weill Cornell Medical School. She has held several leadership positions in the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, where she was honored with Fellowship status in 2016. Rebecca has contributed original research in the domain of employee health & wellbeing, has published in peer-reviewed journals, and is frequently invited to speak at a variety of conferences.

Rebecca graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University and graduated from Weill Medical College of Cornell University, where she was the recipient of the Moselle & Milton Pollack Medical Ethics Award. After completing her internship and residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University she earned her Board Certification in Emergency Medicine. Rebecca received her Master of Public Health (M.P.H) degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
